More soccer

Pictures from our last 2 soccer games, including Kathryn's team picture from last week. Julian's will be this weekend. (Of course we bought pictures too, but everyone else was taking pictures with their cameras along with the photographer, so I did too!)

The kids have learned so much this season, and they have also made some good friends, so Upward soccer has been a success for our family. It will be nice to have our evenings back to ourselves again though (right now, Friday is the only evening I/we don't have somewhere to go!) 3 more games and they will be finished for the year....

(Oh - Evan was able to come visit us Friday evening so he could watch the soccer games Saturday morning. Dad and Sherri were able to come too, as well as Hilda and Robert, so our kids had quite the cheering section!)

Our furry friends

We recently had some company. Of the canine variety.

Dad and Sherri went on a 2+ week vacation, and we took care of Minnie and Nina while they were gone. It was definitely an adventure! No, really, I enjoyed it most of the time - it was just a bit of pet overload when they were here. We are still getting used to a cat being around the house, and then to add another 2 animals IN the house, and it was a bit stressful. It seems everywhere we stepped, there was a child or an animal!

They were a lot of fun, though, and I hope they come back to visit again next year once we have settled in to being a 2 pet home...they've been back at their home for about a week now, and Kathryn already misses them!

We didn't get lots of photos, but here are a few.

Soccer

Today was the first soccer game of the season. The upward program is different than other sports programs, and the goal is having fun and learning basic skills instead of beating the other team. Both kids did have fun, and I was really proud of both of them. I have not gotten to see Julian play since his practice is while I'm in class, so I was surprised and pleased to see how hard he tries and how much he has learned in just a few weeks. And, of course, Kathryn did well too and even scored one goal. So, for the next 6 weeks, this is where we'll be - at the soccer field...

Kathryn's 7th birthday

My youngest is now 7 years old! It's hard to believe, but it's true. Here are some photos from one of her birthday parties:
